Matteo Ricci and friends. . .

In Beijing, we were delightfully informed by a seventy six year old professor on the history relating to the burial place of Matteo Ricci and many other Jesuits and missionaries from other religious congregations. Our knowledgeable professor not only shared his insight but did the entire talk with much love for the subject. Although a non Christian, one would not have guessed that to be so as  he seemed to be able to tell us so many interesting details. Thank God for that interesting afternoon. If the rain had not come, we would have stayed on to listen to more. The Tomb of Matteo Ricci is located in the campus of Beijing Party College. It is a cemetery for the Court Missionaries. Many other famous Jesuits like Adam Schall and Ferdinand Verbiest are buried here. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
